Your Designer is Not An Artist


In an article recently published on Hubspot, Keith Frankel wants you to be aware of one crucial truth of the design world: the fact that your designer is not an artist. Frankel has no intention to downplay the talent of designers, but to him, understanding that there is a difference between a designer and an artist is important to understand, as it not only makes your working relationship with that designer better, it also allows you to streamline your workflow so that your project can reach the results that you really want.

Perhaps the most important thing to take away from Frankel’s article is, as he puts it, the idea that “the perception non-designers have of designers directly affects the way in which they communicate with them, as well as their expectations of the deliverables they will eventually receive from them” and that shaping those perceptions “is vital in ensuring that you’re able to get the most out of your designers.”
