A recent article we posted spoke about New York City’s involvement in updating it’s public pay phone system. Now, NYC will also be getting 90 47-inch touchscreen maps installed by a company named Control Group. These displays will be able to inform you how to get to a particular area just by tapping the area you want to go to. Also, it will display schedule changes, delays, outages and advertisement. They’ll even have Wi-Fi for folks who don’t have reception on their devices. It’s beginning to look more and more like the future, the way it’s depicted in movies and literature is starting today. Well actually, it’s on the horizon. These will be brought into existence by the end of the year. Read more about these maps here.
