Street art is notorious for making people stop and stare, especially because it’s usually in places that art is not “supposed” to be  (like next to a dumpster). But that’s what makes it so special; in a world full of the mundane, it can catch you off guard and remind you that the unexpected could always be just around the corner. And even if just for that moment, it can carry you away.

Hamburg-based artist, 1010, is one of those street artist who wants his art to suck you in (or at least make you feel like it can). The use of shadows in his paintings give the illusion of deep, 3D-vortexes that you could jump right into, traveling through space and time. It’s pretty awesome. He also showed some pieces on canvas in this same style at this year’s Stroke Art Fair in Berlin.
