As a professional photographer, Sasha Leahovcenco’s corporate work is everything you would expect from corporate work. It is clean, sharp and vivid, but doesn’t do much in capturing the essence of life, family and community because that’s not what corporate photography is supposed to do. Leahnovcenco knows this and behind the camera during corporate shoots, he aims for lifestyle instead of life.

Everything changes when the Moldovan-born “Soviet man” steps behind the lens for his own work, where he captures heartfelt images of life in some of the world’s most underprivileged and forgotten places. His personal photographic work includes shots of Inuit families, clad in furs and seemingly enjoying the intense cold in which they live; the vulnerable children of the Pearl of Africa and shots of the future of Haiti: its children post-devastation of the 2010 earthquake.

Below are some of our favorite selections of his work, but all of the shots Leahnovcenco has featured in his portfolio site are filled with such emotion, they merit a look. See the complete series and learn more about him here.
