Ron Mueck’s Hyperrealist Sculptures

mueck

When Ron Mueck first began sculpting, he had already spent many years working as a model maker and puppeteer for children’s movies and television shows, and was already well aware of how to make realistic-looking models. But when Mueck finally decided to sculpt, something really impressive happened; Mueck was able to amazingly replicate his vision of people into sculptures so real, that many were creeped out by them.

That is because Mueck’s sculptures are so finely detailed and hyper-realistic that the fact that they are in fact lifeless and not actually people make them even scarier than if they were real. Check out the spread of photos of Mueck’s work on The Atlantic, and follow him on facebook to see even more of his work.
