SeattlePublicLibrary book drop

The Seattle Public Library kicked off its summer reading program with a stunt to raise awareness from the community and raise funds; creating a domino chain with library books. While no exact number can be found of just how many books were dropped, we do know that the books used to make the domino chain were no longer in the library’s collection, and were either donated or out of date. After their dramatic fall, they were collected and are now being sold by the Friends of Seattle Public Library to help raise money for library programs and services.

While we don’t think any library should have to plan something this spectacular and over-the-top to convince people to pick up a book, we are glad that someone was on hand to video this entire thing. Also, we feel sorry for the folks that had to clean up when it was all over.
