American photographer Diane Arbus once said, “A picture is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you, the less you know.”

Well, this can be certainly be said about New York photographer Ben Zank‘s collection of self-portraits. (Yes, that’s only him in each photo.) His sophisticated use of contrast reals you in, but as you look closer, you’ll find that words will fail to describe what you see. His work is bizarre and alluring, or maybe, bizarrely alluring.

Zank will have his first solo exhibition on February 8 at the Littlefield in Brooklyn, New York.
