Light Painting with Drones

Light painting is the photographic technique in which a long exposure is held while a light source is moved in front of the camera (or the camera is moved in front of the light source). Whether it’s used to capture the New York skyline at night or two newlyweds twirling glow sticks, light painting always proves for interesting photography.

In this display of science fiction art, production studio Fiction attached LED lights to a DJI Phantom drone, attempting to recreate the UFO from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The images were also slightly edited in Photoshop to complete the effect.
