Lego has built a full scale model of the X-Wing fighter, the famous fighter aircraft from Star Wars.

A reproduction of the official $60 toy Lego X-Wing Fighter, this life-size model features 5,335,200 Lego bricks and is 11-feet tall and 43 feet long, with a 44-foot wingspan. It measures 42 times the size of the commercial toy set. It’s so massive that it required a steel infrastructure to keep it in place, all together weighing 45,979.61 pounds (!!). It took 32 builders about 4 months (17,336 hours) to construct it. The engines even glow and roar like the X-Wing in the movies.

The Lego X-Wing will remain at the Legoland California Resort for the rest of the year. And don’t forget to check out the new, animated LEGO Movie, coming to theaters in 2014.
