Iconic Records on the Turntables That First Played Them

Ah, vinyl. Even the name of it conjures feelings of nostalgia for some, as they reminisce on the warm, textured sounds that only a physical contact music player can produce. Picking titles from Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, German artist Kai created World Records, a photo series “meant to be a tribute to analog acoustic art, a homage to the warmest, perhaps most sensitive type of sound carrier”.

The photo series Kai began in early in 2010 today includes around 100 pictures. Some have been purchased by private collectors, while others have found their homes inside business. A select number of the images can be seen on the project’s website.
