How Your Kid Really Feels About Your Modernist Decor

In the adorable Oscar-nominated short film Me and My Moulton by Torill Kove, a young girl lays it all out on the table about how she feels towards her parents’ uber-modernist sensibilities. The seven-year-old main character in the film is a young girl growing up is Norway in the 1960s, who just doesn’t quite understand why her parent’s are so different than all the other girls’.

As most young girls do, she wants a bike quite badly, and endlessly asks her “hopelessly unconventional parents” for one. The short film explains just how embarrassing it can be for a young person to deal with the non-conformity of parents. While the film itself isn’t available in some US regions, you can watch the short preview below.
