Dubai has succeeded in breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest pyrotechnics show on New Year’s Eve.

They welcomed in 2014 by lighting more than 500, 000 fireworks off of the Burj Khalifa, which were seen across 62 miles of Dubai’s seafront. It took a network of 100 computers to control the six-minute spectacle, ten months to plan it and cost $6 million. The event took the place of the previous record holder, Kuwait, who won the title in 2012 with 77, 282 fireworks. Way to leave your competition in the dust, Dubai.
