Best of Both Worlds: 200 Year Old Home Gets New Addition

Chemin-Bord-du-Lac-by-Henri-Cleinge

This beautiful home, known as Chemin Bord du Lac, was first built about two centuries ago in Durval, Quebec, Canada. The original structure is made of powerful, gray stone, which stands as a stark contrast to its new addition made of wood and glass. The homeowners sought to execute their need for more space through the trend of mixing styles, in this case, traditional and contemporary. The combination of textures and elements creates a balanced experience, leaving nothing to be desired. The addition also includes a wooden pool deck that sits peacefully between the new and the old.
