stopmotiontissue
In this adorable animated short film created for Japanese paper manufacturer Nepia, a filmmaker Yuki Ariga gives life to a menagerie of delicately folded tissue paper animals. While the video does raise some questions regarding the environmental impact of paper manufacturing by featuring animals, it is still an excellent example of the kind of fluidity that can be achieved with stop motion, even if you leave your hand in the shot. Plus, we can feel a little better since he uses a single sheet of paper throughout the entire film.

Ariga also put together a making of video, demonstrating just how he was able to put the short together.
